Balanced diet reduces the risk of allergy in babies

allergy1Food allergy is very common in babies and cerates a lot of trouble for babies as well as their parents. Allergy results in rashes in babies which is intolerable for them and sometimes also causes vomiting and diarrhoea. Babies under the age of 5 are mostly allergic to eggs, milk and peanuts. As a responsible parent we must look for any symptoms that the baby might show due to being allergic to certain food and make sure that they get sensitized to any allergen. Some babies simply don’t like certain food and that does not mean that they are allergic to it. Allergy generally runs down in the family.

Babies even get allergic to something which their mothers may have eaten during the time of nursing. The best way to avoid allergy in babies is to keep a complete check on their diet. Solid food should be gradually brought in their diet when the babies are four to six months and they should preferably be given cereal and rice in the beginning. This should be followed by vegetables, fruit and meat. There should be a gap of four to seven days when this move is made as it would help bring into notice any sign of allergy that the babies might show and take precautions accordingly.

However, if babies still has allergy, they should be taken to a doctor to confirm the allergy. Such food which causes allergy should be removed from their diet. But there is no reason to worry as most kids generally grow out of these allergies and they can consume the same food without any trouble.
