In other words, prior to any formal education, the ideal of preschoolers to estimate quantities is very useful.

You may not know but this ability to identify the quantity is present in us at the time of birth. Moreover, greater precision is required to compare items that are much closer in number. The ability to measure develops more during the school age years but starts even before it.

According to expert doctors, children are blessed with numerical and non numerical cognitive abilities and skills. It was amazing to find the evidence that basic number abilities at such a young age plays a role in formal math achievement. However, some additional studies are required to determine whether these skills are malleable even at an early age.

At the age of three or four, children were asked to judge between two sets of objects and differentiate between blue and red crayons and they were successful. Such is the sharpness of their mind.

The growth of brain in babies is directly related to the percentage of time and energy being spent on the child by their mother. This has been revealed in a new research. The study has been conducted on 128 living species, including humans.

The result shows that the length of pregnancy and how long they feed the baby determines brain growth in babies. The research concludes that the more the duration of pregnancy and simultaneous feeding period of breast milk, the better and bigger the size of baby’s brain.

The research confirms that breast-feeding is the best feed for brain development of babies. This research strengthen and supports the suggestion provided by World Health Organization stating that babies should be breast feed for first six months after birth, which can be extended till the age of two or beyond along with solid food.

As an explanation to the study, researchers say that the long period of feeding and pregnancy is required in humans to support the growth of their 1300cc brains.

The brain size as compared to the size of the body is closely associated to maternal care and energy being invested on the baby. Whereas the duration of pregnancy decides on the brain size at birth, the period of breast-feeding decides on growth of brain after birth of the baby.

There are many things about the early brain development of a baby, which we should know as parents. There have been many researches done by psychologist that explains the early development of the baby brain and can help parents to know the role that they should play in supporting the early brain development of the child. Some of the important things are being discussed here.

The child is born with genes which play an important role in brain development. However along with that the care and nurturing offered in early life also plays a significant role. This is not only true for human being but even animals go through same. The way a brain gets care in the early life does influence the way his genes grow and work.

Along with care, constant interactions of the parent with the baby also help in further developing the brain. Babies learn constantly from the moment they are born, but they need help of their parents to deal with emotions.

At the time of birth, the brain and the nervous systems of a baby are not developed yet and it matures only during the early years of his life. During this time, the baby comes in contact with the world, and this contact as well as the kind of nurture that the baby gets influences in his brain’s development.

These are many such things that gives the baby what it needs for a proper development of brain along with little care and attention.

The study says more self –control in children helps them succeed better in life. The study was conducted on a particular number of individuals for over a certain period of their life since birth. And the result of the study has predicted a number of things.

The first and the foremost prediction of the study is that self-control helps children in achieving success later in life. This fact has been proved after making some serious observations in different areas of an individual’s life in different stages. In fact, it is said that more than intellect and background of an individual, his self-control plays a greater role in his success in life and also takes him towards prosperity and well-being.

Secondly, the study also said that the improvement in self-control in children of three years and above enhances positive feelings in their future life. It is also said that young children who makes effort to improve self-control during young age does well than those who don’t.

So, parents and teachers of young kids should focus on improving self-control in children in young age to have long-term benefits in their life. They should reward children for showing patience in certain difficult situations and should take appropriate action at situations where the child throws temper tantrums.

Kids can be very demanding and annoying as guests if they are not taught the proper way to behave at other’s place. Kids love to visit their friends and spend time with them playing and eating together. But if it is they are not taught the lessons on etiquette by their parents, they can create a lot of trouble to the host. And may be the next time, they won’t even get invited again.

Some kids are real trouble makers. They would shift things in the house here and there, drop and smash them, demand unusual things to eat and play that are not available with you, or will deny eating stuff that you cook and serve and so on. These kids can never be good guests and never get invited to their friends house again and again. It is the duty of their parents as well as their teachers in pre-school to teach them to behave and to present them at other’s house as decent guests.

To do so, it is very important for them to have general sense of decorum, like saying thank you, please, sorry, may I etc. Other things like being seated at a table for food, wash hands before food, not dirty things or waste food, etc. are some basic manners that the kids should be taught.

All these small but good gestures will surely take away the heart of the hosts and make your kids good guests at any one’s house.

Babies these days are commonly facing the speech complex and this is making parents worry. However, there are some tips to make your baby speak better and we are going to share the same with you in this article.

One of the interesting speech exercises for your infant baby is to encourage him or her to a sound or speech. Try to talk to your baby as much as you can to make your baby respond quickly.

Singing melodious songs to the baby is another way of improving a baby’s speech, as he or she develops an interesting in music and starts humming even being a toddler. This also enables the babies to appreciate the soothing sounds and appreciate the power of words, which they later on use in their daily speech.

Parents or guardians can also act out gestures in front of their baby to help them use the power of actions and also to understand them in daily life as they grow up. On the other hand, you must yourself avoid talking to your baby in baby talk, in stead talk as an adult as this will encourage the baby to imitate the same.

Teaching children who have learning disabilities can be a major challenge for parents as well as teachers. Most children know or learn how to deal with problems as they are capable of processing information and have the ability to organize information into a plan or strategy to tackle a problem. But there are also children who find learning to process information a very uphill task. This is not because they are not diligent enough but this could be a disorder.

This disorder has only been discovered very recently. Children suffering from this neurological disorder have trouble understanding or organizing information and have very little ability to reason. They have difficulty in almost all aspects of learning, be it education or day to day chores. Although it is a challenging task to teach these children, proper and a strategic approach can help these kids learn more effectively.

The first step of teaching these children would be to understand the type of inability or disorder they have. There are various types of learning disabilities, like dyslexia, dyscalculia, disgraphia etc. Identifying the right one is the first step in helping them. These children are generally not very quick learners and need special attention to understand even basic things. It is very difficult for these children to connect ends and come to a conclusion or solution. Special care must be taken and one should be careful not to make them realize about their disability. This can have adverse affect of their self esteem.

The key to teaching these children is in understanding them and identifying ways which they can relate to. Some effective ways could be use of pictures, real life images and connecting them to things that they often see.

The importance of religion and the belief in the almighty plays a very important part in the upbringing of any children. Even parents with little faith in gods consider religion to be a vital part when it comes to raising their child. However, unlike the conventional thought, a child can be brought up without religion as well and this in hindsight also proves very beneficial as the child finds himself away from the dangerous implications that religion may carry.

Religion provides structure to those who believe in various religious worship services. It lets them know the reason for their present predicament and also makes them aware about what will be happening to them. Religion gives meaning to their lives as it provides structure and comfort to them. Rather than religion, it is more important to teach your child morality. Theist parents teach their child a lot of values and principles which are based on the gods.

Atheist parents too end up teaching the same to their children; it is just that their teachings about the principles and values of life are concerned with empathy for the fellowmen. The advances of modern technology may shake the faith in some children in certain situation; however, child who knows the importance of empathy can reason such situation with greater ease. Therefore, it is important to make sure that children are not taught about hellfire and damnation. It is important for the parents to protect their childhood innocence and not to fill their young minds with false beliefs.

Interestingly, they often forget to educate their child about the value of money. Most things in life revolve around money one way or the other and the future of your child can become very precarious if they have no idea about the importance of money from their early childhood.

It is important on the part of the parents to make their child aware about money at an early age. Parents must inculcate the habit of saving money in their child and make them realize the real meaning of investment. This would ensure that your children have financial security and does not accumulate unwanted debt in the future.

Savings should be made fun by letting your child use shoe box or piggy banks to store the money. You can also open a savings account in the name of your child so that he is encouraged to save. Children should be taught the power of compounding and should understand that money requires a little time to grow.

Children should also be given the freedom to spend according to their own choices. They should also be taught not to crave for something blindly on the basis of the advertisements they see. They should be taught the implications of borrowing. Lastly, involving your child in financial discussions of the family would definitely help in making him sound financial decisions.
