The new researches made and results found are sure to make the expectant ladies more careful and alert in choosing their diets during the months of their pregnancy. According to the group of researchers from UK, New Zealand and Singapore, the obesity of a child cannot be only linked to his genes and present lifestyle but some connections are also there with that state when the baby was in the womb and his mother was eating foods that are less on carbohydrate and more on fats. Your eating habit while you are pregnant can lead to major issues like heart disease, obesity and even diabetes of your child in the later years.

Though the effect of your bad diet during will not be visible in the immediate years of the baby’s birth but the effects can be seen in the in child from his six or nine years of age. This team of researchers studying on the influence of the mother’s diet on her baby during the pregnancy is led by the Southampton University’s Professor Keith Godfrey and a report on the study is to publish on the journal Diabetes.

This process of the mother’s diet having links to the functioning process of her child’s DNA during the pregnancy period is said to be epigenetic change and this study has proved the probability of epigenetic change on an approximate of 300 children. These children are predicted to suffer from the risk of obesity the time they reach an age of six or nine. Other factors like the health and weight of the mother of the child and his weight during his birth too will not matter nor will have any control on the growing obese structure of his body at that age.

So, you better be careful right from today and consult a dietician for a proper diet habit if you too are expecting a baby.

Diabetic patients and especially those who also are pregnant have seen to undergo cesarean quite often. This ratio is so much so that 30 years of reports have proved 85.9% diabetic patients who are expecting babies have undergone cesarean and in comparison to that only 37.8% of the non-diabetic moms have got cesarean. This ratio has definitely led some group of people to think and worry as to why is this happening and is there any scientific and medical reason behind this behavior.

Though no significant reason behind the growing and higher cesarean rate in the diabetic patients have been found till now but it has been doubted that lack of calcium in the body of the diabetic patient is causing it. It is the lesser rate of calcium in the boy of the diabetic expectant mothers that makes them suffer from more of labor pains and that ultimately perhaps tends the physicians to do cesarean.

One more thing that increases the labor of the mother is the size of the baby. Women who have gestational diabetes generally give birth to bigger babies and this is known as LGA or large for gestational age newborns. To get the mother relief from this labor and not to make the situation complicated anymore cesarean is being conducted.

As the lack of calcium in the uterus of the diabetic women is itself a risky matter, cesarean of such patients definitely is a case of great risk.

Childbirth is special time in woman life, when everything else stops existing and when there is nothing more important than you and your child. Thankfully, the vast majority of pregnancies and births go smooth and without any problems, but sometimes something goes wrong and we deal with “birth injuries”.

When we say “birth injuries” we mean any injury suffered by mother or baby during labour and we should understand that sometimes the effects can be devastating.

However, no matter how horrible and terrible the situation is, you should always know your rights and understand that if mother or baby is harmed due to medical negligence, a claim for compensation is possible.

If you has suffered from birth injury or clinical negligence, you should make a compensation claim and consult medical negligence solicitors who will handle the case and help you to solve this situation.

These people help those who have been injured as a result of poor care or negligence. Also they will help you to get moral and psychological help.

Always remember that you are not alone!

Many couples feel sad thinking that their sex life will suffer due to pregnancy. Read on to learn how to make sex life interesting during and after pregnancy.

There is no doubt is stating that pregnancy or motherhood brings a lot of changes in a woman’s life that ultimately also affects the man. Sex is one thing that can be counted in those things that are hampered but if you are passionate enough for each other and bit wise too, you can make it interesting during this 9 month journey and even after it.

Pregnant women are generally worried that indulging in sex during pregnancy will hurt their baby in the womb. So, the best way is to consult your doctor for this and indulge in light sex and not too passionate one to avoid any chances of miscarriage.

Generally, doctors advise to stay away from sex during the first six weeks of pregnancy, so you just need to be patient during this time and then who is stopping you? Just understand each other and be physically close by other physical gestures like hugging, kissing, massaging, showering together and holding hands, after all, sex is not the only physical pleasure in the world.

Well, read on to learn about the 5 tips to make the most of your maternity leave.

First of all, make sure to notify your employer about your pregnancy and anticipated date of delivery. This way, your employer will appreciate your giving him or her an advance notice of your future absence. Secondly, your employer will be willing to grant to the maternity leave.

Secondly, try to understand your state’s disability insurance programs to check whether you will be granted paid leaves or insurance payments during your maternity leave. For instance, in California, six weeks of partial wage replacement is granted to new parents.

Thirdly, make sure to avoid work during your maternity leave and try to reserve your energy and time only for the newly born. Remember, that new borns have no specific sleeping patterns and your whole life schedule will disrupt in beginning.

Fourthly, try to find some reliable childcare so that you can start your work in few weeks after your maternity leave gets over. Your aim should be to look for a caregiver who is not hard with your new born.

Fifth tip is to have a full knowledge of your breastfeeding rights during the maternity leave. In many states there are lactation rights that allow lactating mothers to take some time out to express breast milk.

Maintaining a proper pregnancy weight is very essential for the proper growth of the baby and the health of mother. Read on to learn how to manage pregnancy weight in the ideal way.

First of all, keep in mind that during pregnancy your focus should be on eating good fats and not sugar. Avoid including artificial trans fats that are detrimental to the baby’s health. Feeding on boiled potatoes in interesting ways like snacks is a good weight management way for pregnant ladies. You can also gorge upon hard boiled eggs, low sugar yogurt and nut butters.

On the other hand, avoid gorging upon processed foods, candies and unhealthy snacks during pregnancy that will make you fatter without doing any good for you. Your aim should be to consume nutritious food that is fresh and not stale. Also, avoid aerated drinks and caffeine during pregnancy which are all fatty for pregnant ladies.

Pregnant ladies can also manage their weight by following a proper prenatal exercise routine that includes yoga. Doing light walk in evening or morning is also an ideal way of managing pregnancy weight.

Now eager parents can know their unborn baby’s sex as early as 7 weeks of pregnancy. Yes, a blood test can make it possible to identify a baby’s gender by 7 weeks gestation. Though, in many countries it is illegal to find the baby’s gender before birth, this test is getting popular in countries where it is legal to find the gender.

Blood DNA test was conducted on over 6,000 pregnancy and the results showed that the blood test correctly identified the baby’s gender with a great success rate of 95-99%. This test is done by taking a sample of mother’s blood and then it is tested for cell free fetal DNA at seven weeks of pregnancy to identify the baby’s gender.

It is believed that this DNA blood testing method is also a noninvasive way of identifying certain genetic disorders in early pregnancy. Before this test, it was possible to identify the baby’s gender in the womb at 14 weeks of pregnancy and not before that. So, this test is definitely a new development in the scientific world but it is being criticized by many people who find it illegal and unethical.

It has been found that a pregnant woman’s diet can actually alter her child’s whole DNA in the womb while increasing the risk of the child’s obesity.

This major study also revealed that the optimal diet a mother should eat must improve the infant health in the womb. On the other hand, when a pregnant lady gorges on unhealthy food, chances of the baby to suffer from chronic diseases increases. This research was conducted in the UK , New Zealand and Singapore .
