religion important

The importance of religion and the belief in the almighty plays a very important part in the upbringing of any children. Even parents with little faith in gods consider religion to be a vital part when it comes to raising their child. However, unlike the conventional thought, a child can be brought up without religion as well and this in hindsight also proves very beneficial as the child finds himself away from the dangerous implications that religion may carry.

Religion provides structure to those who believe in various religious worship services. It lets them know the reason for their present predicament and also makes them aware about what will be happening to them. Religion gives meaning to their lives as it provides structure and comfort to them. Rather than religion, it is more important to teach your child morality. Theist parents teach their child a lot of values and principles which are based on the gods.

Atheist parents too end up teaching the same to their children; it is just that their teachings about the principles and values of life are concerned with empathy for the fellowmen. The advances of modern technology may shake the faith in some children in certain situation; however, child who knows the importance of empathy can reason such situation with greater ease. Therefore, it is important to make sure that children are not taught about hellfire and damnation. It is important for the parents to protect their childhood innocence and not to fill their young minds with false beliefs.
