Apart from the immense pleasure and joy, new born babies also bring a lot of responsibilities for their parents when they come to this world. Parents have to take special care of their babies in the initial stage as the entire body of the baby is very delicate at that time. The most delicate part being the eyes requires special attention. Parents must ensure that those glittering eyes of their little ones are kept healthy at all times and must learn the necessary skills to do so.

The eyes of the babies should be treated regularly with cotton ball dipped clean water. Each eye of your should be treated with different piece of cotton balls and must be wiped inside to outside in order to prevent the occurrence of any infection which has the tendency to spread very quickly from one to the other eye.

Although, blocked tear ducts are quite common in most babies, parents must not sit back and should consult their paediatrician if they are not certain about any condition. The most important thing is to maintain the hygiene and clean the eyes of your baby constantly with clean soft cloth.

Human eyes are designed to take care of themselves and hence they should not be interfered with. Use of foreign substances such as kohl can damage your baby’s eyes and should be avoided at all situations. The exposure to any sudden bright light and the sparkling sun should also be avoided.

You must also not hold back and visit a doctor as soon as you find any discharge coming out of their eyes. Parents should pay extra importance and utmost caution when it comes to dealing with their babies’ eyes, because eyes as they say are the mirror to the soul.
