Making your children secured by your own act and imparting them proper knowledge about gangs, drugs or sex at proper time is what we call successful and appropriate parenting.

1. Quality time upon quantity of time

Spending entire day with your child but interacting less with him or her is not that fruitful. Rather, quality of time you are spending with your child will make your baby secured and friendlier with you.

This time is also known as Genuine Encounter Moment or GEM. Yes, it is obvious that more you are responsive to your child’s need even within your stipulated time period out of the busy schedule per day, more your child will be open with you in his/her problem.

2. Action louder than words

Don’t make your children “parent deaf” by yelling or nagging over same thing. At their age, children tend to disobey what you say repetitively. So do something playful which will tell them what is wrong or right.

3. Separate deed from the doer

Don’t withdraw your love if your child is going wrong somewhere. It will decrease the self esteem of your child. Make your child feel that you love him/her unconditionally irrespective of the deed.

4. Keep a hold on your words

If you have made a promise to give your child any gift for his/her good deed, then try to keep your promise. It will enhance the respect for you in your child’s mind.

5. Kindness and firmness simultaneously does matter

If you have a plan to make your child learn something within a stipulated time then don’t nag if the timer goes off. Better boost his/her moral to do the thing within the time by being firm and loving both.
