However, there is nothing to worry at all, if you know what to expect as weight gain. Often pregnant ladies ask questions like how much weight should they gain during pregnancy and will they get rid of those extra pounds later. So, read on to know about queries related to pregnancy weight gain.

Remember, pregnancy weight gain depends on height and weight. In short, BMI or Body Mass Index need to be calculated during pregnancy, like a woman with BMI ranging between 18.5 and 24.9 should gain around 25 to 35 pounds during the whole 9 months of pregnancy for an optimal growth of the baby.

While, underweight pregnant ladies with BMI less than 18.5 should gain about 28 to 40 pounds and overweight ladies with BMI of 25 to 29.9 should gain 15 to 25 pounds during pregnancy. Last of all, obese pregnant ladies with BMI higher than 30 should gain about 35 to 45 pounds.

Getting rid of pregnancy weight is not tough, if you have the will to shed it. Just be a little patient for 2 to 3 months after delivery and start exercising to get rid of those extra pregnancy weight gain.
