There can be a number of reason for a child to not socialize with other children of their agegroup. The foremost thing to do in such case is to speak with the child to know the cause for such behavior.

If that doesn’t solve the problem, try to speak with the teachers of your child at school. They may be able to give you a concrete reason, which might be keeping your child away from company of friends. It might so happen that an incident in school might led your child withdrawn from their peergroup. In that case you can try to resolve it.

Another reason why your child doesn’t interact with friends may be shyness or lack of confidence. Besides, your child may be the peaceful kind of kid who doesn’t enjoy noisy environment and likes peaceful surrounding. This may be one reason, why he/she stays alone.

Again, if your child is the only kid in the family, he gets used to spending time alone, which is why he may avoid company of other children.

The above reasons would be able to solve your problem. Otherwise, you must counsel with a doctor just to confirm that your kid is not having any medical problem.

Don’t compel the child to interact with friends forcefully, rather try other tactics like inviting his friends to your house and see if he develops friendship with them.

However, mothers have always had this question of how to know when the child has been well fed. Breasts are no bottles and there is no way of knowing the exact amount of milk a baby has consumed.

So, how do mothers know if the child is having enough? You cannot know for certain how much milk the baby has drank but over a period of time you will definitely know if your baby has had enough to drink. If the baby is gaining enough weight then you can make out that it is being fed well.

There are several other ways of knowing. A baby that is getting a lot of milk has a characteristic way of sucking and the rhythm is slow and steady. Also there are a number of prominent pauses during the process. Evert pause means a mouthful of milk. The longer the pause, the more milk it has in the mouth.

A baby’s bowel movement gives a clear indication of whether or not it is getting enough milk. The more milk it gets the lighter the bowel movement becomes. A baby accumulates meconium during the pregnancy and it comes out during the first few days. But if it continues even after that it means it is not getting enough milk and needs to be treated immediately.

Another way of knowing if a child is having enough milk is the number of times it wets the bed. If it happens 6 times a day, you can rest assure your baby is getting enough milk.

Teaching children who have learning disabilities can be a major challenge for parents as well as teachers. Most children know or learn how to deal with problems as they are capable of processing information and have the ability to organize information into a plan or strategy to tackle a problem. But there are also children who find learning to process information a very uphill task. This is not because they are not diligent enough but this could be a disorder.

This disorder has only been discovered very recently. Children suffering from this neurological disorder have trouble understanding or organizing information and have very little ability to reason. They have difficulty in almost all aspects of learning, be it education or day to day chores. Although it is a challenging task to teach these children, proper and a strategic approach can help these kids learn more effectively.

The first step of teaching these children would be to understand the type of inability or disorder they have. There are various types of learning disabilities, like dyslexia, dyscalculia, disgraphia etc. Identifying the right one is the first step in helping them. These children are generally not very quick learners and need special attention to understand even basic things. It is very difficult for these children to connect ends and come to a conclusion or solution. Special care must be taken and one should be careful not to make them realize about their disability. This can have adverse affect of their self esteem.

The key to teaching these children is in understanding them and identifying ways which they can relate to. Some effective ways could be use of pictures, real life images and connecting them to things that they often see.

Teen pregnancy is a growing menace for parents these days as the number of cases have been on rise. It is no doubt an area of both concern and angst for parents. They are definitely correct in being upset over this, but they also need to understand that it is not just the girl who is responsible. So, when faced with such a situation parents need to help their child instead of accusing them and getting angry with them. However, when you try to help your child, you need to ensure that the choices that you make are well informed. Also the boy should also be made a part of this responsibility as he is equally at fault too.

Some of the dos and don’ts of such a scenario are mentioned below.

Parents should make sure that they do not harass the girl, but rather speak with her calmly. Also involve the boy and his family in the damage control action.

The teenage father doesn’t have a right to prevent abortion and but has right to paternity test

The girl should be presented with viable options and she has the right to decide on what to do

Apart from these there are several other things to be taken into consideration. Abortion is an option, but there are alternatives too. There is ample support for such children in case she wants to go ahead with the baby. But the problem with teen mothers is that they themselves aren’t very responsible and when entrusted with the responsibility of a new born it could be too much for them. On the other hand, abortion can have a lifelong regret and sense of guilt. So, parents need to be very cautious while advising the child on action to be taken.

Nothing makes your child happier than a toy. For kids, toys are not just things but are more of playmates. As parents, you tend to give kids the toys they like so that it makes them happy. However, it is very important that you do some ground work before purchasing toys for your kid, as there could be many hidden hazards which you might not realize. Some of the basic things that you need to take into consideration while buying toys are discussed below.

The most basic thing is following the instructions in the warning labels. Many electric toys are found to be hazardous to kids and following the dos and don’ts ensure that your child is safe. You should also check if the toy has sharp edges or points, as these could be dangerous for kids who normally tend to put their toys in their mouths or eyes.

You should be careful that the toys are not laced with strings or chords as they pose the fear of a kid getting strangled by them. Another very important thing to be borne in mind is that kids tend to swallow things; hence you must be careful not to buy toys made of small parts. Besides, make sure that the toys are strong and do not easily break into pieces resulting in sharp edges.

In addition to all these, you should take care of the fact that the sound coming from the toys isn’t very loud as it could harm the sensitive eardrums of your little one. Also ensure that the toy is not made of any toxic substance. And lastly, confirm that the toys you purchased are not in the Toy Recall Lists of the government.

Making the child feel secure and part of the family is very important for parents who adopt the child. Parents must aim at creating a connection with the child and must find ways to bond with them. This initial step is the key to a successful and happy life for both the parent as well as the child. Parents must clear their schedules and spend as much time with the new child as possible and make him feel welcomed in the new family.

The basic needs of the child should be taken care of quickly and he must be reassured that he is in safe hands. Building trust in your child that he is in safe hands is an important step in bonding. Holding and cuddling the child and indulging in activities that encourage eye contact also help to create a strong bond between the parent and the new child. Games and activities that help the two of you share a smile develop a common ground that leads to happy memories together.

It is also helpful to consider sleeping with your child so that you can take care of any sudden need that may arise in the night and doing so is also a wonderful way to promote closeness between you. Parents should allow the new child to take some time in order to get over the grieve caused due to the loss of his birth parents. It is also important for parents to be patient on their part as it sometimes may take time to establish a true connection.

There is a tendency for most women to gain weight after they deliver their child. There are only a few lucky ones who are able to maintain themselves even after pregnancy and do not put on any extra weight. The best way to shed weight after pregnancy is to keep an eye on your diet and do some exercise in addition to some massage chair therapy.

You should make sure that the food that you take is of good quality and provides nutrition to your body. In case, you have to consume fast food, you must ensure that it is sodium free. The reason being sodium adds to the water level and eventually increases your weight. So you should lower your salt intake and avoid soda and drinks with high sugar percentage.

Exercise is another important activity that would help you in your quest to reduce weight. You should consult your doctor and start with exercises that would help you burn some calories. Taking your baby for a walk can be the simplest and most effective exercise for you post your pregnancy. Breastfeeding is another way by which you can burn calories.

Massage chair therapy can also aid a great deal to the recovery process. Massage chair relives you of aches and pains in your lower back and also flushes out harmful toxins from your body which helps you loss weight. You should not look for instant result, as losing that unwanted weight may take some time. Do give yourself some time before you see some progress in your weight loss goal.
